Brooks Maintenance Kits are the perfect accompaniment to your Brooks Saddle. The Brooks Maintenance Kit has been designed so that you can keep the leather clean- comfortable and add years and a beautiful patina to the leather. The Brooks Maintenance Kit contains the following: 25g tin of leather proofide Spanner Polishing cloth Brooks advise that you use this treatment several times in the first few months after purchasing your saddle - also known as the breaking in period. Thereafter you should use it every 3 to 6 months in order to keep the leather supple and give maximum comfort and longevity to your saddle. How to use it: Apply a little Proofide to the finished side of the leather. Allow the Proofide to permeate until dry and then polish off. Note: if you are running without mudguards Brooks recommend apply some proofride to the underside of the saddle – there is no need to polish this off as it will offer a protective layer against road muck and grime. The leather used on brooks saddles gets its colour during the tanning process and it is possible for this colour to transfer to your clothing so it is advised that you polish the saddle with a soft cloth before the first use.
