A huge deer park surrounds an 18th century house with a mixture of formal and informal gardens. Water abounds and there's interest all year at this National Trust property, with spectacular bluebell woods in spring and a huge collection of hydrangeas for late summer and autumn colour. The estate pre-dates the current mansion, so there's a medieval moat and an Elizabethan mount amongst the many historical features here.
