Pinfold, Bate Heath

Just past the phone box if you're cycling clockwise on the route, on the corner of Cann Lane, there's a low-walled enclosure with a plaque attached, noting its architectural features. A pinfold is a place for impounding stray animals and this one is thought to date from the 18th century. See the map below
