Wrenbury

by Alec and Val Scaresbrook

Wrenbury

Wrenbury is an old settlement, mentioned in the Domesday book, and much of the village was once owned by the monks of nearby Combermere Abbey. The village remained isolated until the canal and then the railway were built.

St Margaret's church

Wrenbury's sandstone church, dating from the 16th century, has a late 1700s musicians' gallery and a three-decker Georgian pulpit.
