Stretton Watermill

by Alec and Val Scaresbrook

Stretton Watermill

This lovely old timber-framed building, with wooden weatherboarding, contains 18th century wooden flour mill machinery that has been restored to working order for demonstrations. The mill has two water wheels, one on the outside and a later addition housed within a stone extension inside. Wherever water comes into contact with the building, it is made of stone. The mill is open to the public at certain times for an admission charge. But even when closed you can gain access to the picnic site alongside the tranquil millpond.
